Final Season Of Game Of Thrones To Start Airing April 14

New Game of Thrones posters capturing 20 of the characters sitting on the Iron Throne have been released ahead of upcoming season eight.

HBO has released official posters with the remaining characters posing on the iron throne.

In the running were: Daenerys Targaryen, Jon Snow, Cersei Lannister, Arya Stark, Jaime Lannister, Tyrion Lannister, Sansa Stark, Bran Stark, Brienne Of Tarth, Davos Seaworth, Euron Greyjoy, Jorah Mormont, Greyworm, Melisandre, Missandei, Samwell Tarly, Theon Greyjoy, Varys, The Hound and the Night King.

Fiery mother of dragons Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) could be seen grasping on the arms of the throne as she power dressed in a androgynous costume.

Accompanied with the poster, The Game Of Thrones official account tweeted: 'Will #DaenerysTargaryen rule the realm? Break the wheel #ForTheThrone.'

Also, the poster depicting Jon (Kit Harington) sat on the Iron Throne undeniably had echoes of the season one image of the late Ned Stark (Sean Bean) on the seat.

The Targaryen heir wore a fierce stare, slicked back his long curly locks and donned his typical fur cloak for the striking image.

In a powerful photograph, Sansa (Sophie Turner) shed her feminine gowns for a dramatic black dress embossed with reptile scales.

As well as a demure neckline, chains were fastened around the Lady of Winterfell's neck as she sat comfortable in the Iron Throne.

The stark contrast in Sansa's costume changes appears to reflect the strength of character she develops over the HBO series.

George R. R. Martin penned of Sansa in A Song Of Ice And Fire: 'My skin has turned to porcelain, to ivory, to steel.'

Recently, Sophie unveiled her character will wear armor for the first time in the upcoming season as she hopes Sansa will have a gladiatorial image.

'This is the first time I've had armor,' she told Entertainment Weekly. 'The idea of it being very protective and she buttons herself up.

'I wanted her to have a bit of armor and be a bit more warrior-like, She's like the warrior of Winterfell.'

Cersei (Lena Headey) was another powerful woman in competition to rule the seven kingdoms from the hot seat.

The current Queen of Westeros donned a long velvet gown in deep purple which featured metallic shoulder pads.

Fans were convinced Cersei was telling the truth about being pregnant when HBO bosses released stills from the eighth season.

The cunning queen confided in her twin brother Jamie (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) that she was pregnant with their fourth child from their incestuous relationship.

As Cersei is known for her deceptive and manipulative behaviour, Jamie didn't believe her but fans were adamant she wasn't lying about a possible unborn child.

Hardcore fans were quick to notice Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) posed on the Iron Throne without his right hand.

In the hotly-anticipated season eight teaser trailer, it pits the remaining characters against each other in the bloodthirsty battle for the throne.
